Add-ons our mechanics recommend.
Hand-picked by the eBikes Calgary shop floor and fitted free when you collect.
The do-everything hub-drive commuter.
The Colt is the bike we hand to riders who want one machine for the whole week — the commute, the grocery run, the riverside cruise and the weekend gravel detour.
A 500W rear hub motor pairs with a dropout torque sensor, so assist comes on smoothly the moment you push the pedals — it feels like a stronger version of you, not a throttle yanking you forward. Five assist levels plus a thumb throttle cover everything from a relaxed flat cruise to the climb back up the hill.
The headline is range. The 960 Wh battery is the biggest in its class — up to 150 km on a charge — and it's still removable for indoor charging. Prefer to spend less up front? Step down to the 14 Ah or 12 Ah pack and keep the same frame, motor and parts.
Every Colt leaves our NE Calgary shop fully assembled, torque-checked and road-tested by our mechanics. Two-year warranty, free first tune-up and lifetime adjustments handled in-house — never shipped back to a faceless online dealer.
- 960
Range you stop worrying about
The 960 Wh pack is the biggest in its class — up to 150 km on a charge, so the long way home is never the limit.
- Torque
Pedal assist that feels natural
A dropout torque sensor reads how hard you pedal and matches it — smoother and more bike-like than a cadence sensor.
- 20 min
Ready to ride, fast
Out of the box in about 20 minutes — or buy in-store and we hand it over fully built and tuned.

What Surface 604 owners say.
Three winters in. Still running.
Picked up a V-Rook from the floor in spring 2023. Commute NE to downtown 5 days a week, year-round. Through the cold snap last February (-32 with windchill) the battery range halved but it still got me home. Free first-year labour saved me a chain-line tune-up. Mid-drive torque sensor is the real difference vs. the Rad I rode before.
Sold me on the test ride.
Tested 4 different brands the same afternoon. The Shred was the only one that felt like a real mountain bike with a motor instead of a motorbike that thinks it's a bike. Brought it home, rode the 17th Ave to Glenmore Reservoir loop the next day. Belt-clean and quiet.
Boar Hunter, hands down.
Used to ride a fat bike non-electric for hunting weekends in the foothills. Switched to the Boar 750 last fall. Quieter than I expected, dual-range battery option pushed me to 100 km on a single charge with cargo. Calgary team set up my rack and panniers in-store. No notes.
Ordered online, no regrets.
Shipped to NW Calgary, arrived 2 days later, partially assembled. The eBC team did a free pre-assembly check before delivery. Colt commuter has been flawless for 6 months — LRT-to-downtown commute three days a week, paths the other two. Lights, fenders, hidden wiring, real components.
Great bike, fenders rattled.
Twist folding fat-tire shipped to my condo. Bike itself is solid — folds small enough to fit in my SUV for trips to Bragg Creek. One fender mount rattled out of the box; eBC mailed replacement bolts the next day, no hassle. Knocked one star because it shouldn't have shipped that way.
Step-thru Rook is perfect.
59, knees are not what they used to be. The step-through V-Rook with mid-drive lets me ride to the farmers' market and back without thinking about it. Battery is hidden in the frame so it doesn't look like a mobility scooter. Two friends bought the same model after riding mine.
The biggest battery in its class.
960 Wh on the 20 Ah pack — up to 150 km on a single charge. More than any competitor at this price. Prefer to spend less? Drop to the 12 Ah or 14 Ah pack and save.
Competitor ranges estimated proportionally from battery capacity. Actual range varies with rider weight, terrain, assist level and temperature.
Range by assist level
City commute by day.
Trailhead by weekend.
The Colt is the do-everything hub-drive — quiet through downtown traffic, then happy on the gravel when the pavement runs out. With 960 Wh on board, the ride home is never the limit.
Torque-sensor assist reads how hard you pedal and adds power smoothly — it feels like a bike, not a throttle. A Suntour fork and 27.5″ Kenda tires soak up the rough stuff.
One bike, every street.
Cafés, alleys, the riverside path and the climb back up.
Parts that bike shops know and trust.
Every component is from a brand your mechanic already stocks — serviceable for years.
